Making jam in four steps.
The first joy is picking them from the tree, one by one, enjoying their sweet scent and that bright yellow color that brings joy.
Near the Ficumori house there is a secret garden, closed inside an abandoned ruin, where an old lemon continues to produce generous fruits that we gladly collect. They are there, available to those who appreciate them.
We wash them quickly because they are super organic, no treatment has polluted them.
Ingredients:
1 kg of lemons
400 grams of cane sugar
A few leaves of mint
Then we cut them into slices and leave them to soak in fresh water for 4/5 hours.
Drain the lemons and place them in a pan, adding the sugar and cook over low heat for 40 minutes.
I stored the waste water in a jug and it was immediately served as a refreshing drink, much appreciated!
We pour the jam into hermetically sealed jars, adding for each one a sheet of mint picked in the garden: the touch of freshness to our homemade jam.
Then we turn the jar upside down to remove the air and create a vacuum.
Our jam is ready!
